Morillon has its own nursery slopes and when the snow is good you can ski all the way back to the village.. The main skiing starts from Morillon 1100 (Les Esserts), the modern ski centre on the mountain above the resort. It can be reached by fast gondola or by car (an eight-minute drive). The villages own complex of nine lifts is directly linked to Flaine, Samoens, and Les Carroz with runs for all abilities. Extensive off-piste opportunities are an added bonus. Snow canons around Morillon 1100 are used to top up the conditions both early and late season.
Morillon is part of the Grand Massif ski area, Samoens has access to over 265 km of pistes. You start by catching the 8 seater gondola up to the main ski area. The lift system is hands free and they are constantly improving the lifts themselves. For beginners there are some great accessible slopes and once you have found your legs you can head up to the the Grandes Platieres on the jumbo gondola to take a blue back down to the village.
If you are wanting a change of scenery you can head over to the Chamonix Valley and the Portes du Soleil (Les Gets, Morzine and Avoriaz) as they are only a 30-minute drive away. Morillon
