	By Car To get driving directions to the resort go to either the AA Website or the Michelin Route Planner website www.viamichelin.com or www.theaa.com.		Looking for an airport transfer at a good rate? www.skitransfers.com offer an excellent service. English-speaking drivers greet you at the airport and then drive you to the resort. Their vehicles range in size up to a 19 seater minibus. Child seats also available.

About The Resort..

Just up the valley from Chamonix this old village looks over Mont Blanc, the Glacier d'Argentierre and the Aguille Du Midi. It is also close by to Cormayeur Chamonix, Megeve and Saint Gervais. It is a rustic typically Savoyarde Village

Where to stay?

Lots of choice and we like the 3 Star Grands-Montets T: 0450 540 666 near to the slopes and a great pool.

The family run Montana T: 0450 54199 has its friends probably due to its food.

Cheaper still is the Couronne T: 0450 540 02 and Dahu 0450 540 155 which are both great value

For something completely different why not try this converted chapel in Argentiere. It only accommodates 2-3 persons at a time but it's lovely setting next to the forest and views of the surrounding mountains are superb. We recommend this place for experienced skiers who are prepared to hire a guide and explore the superb off piste. You can even ski fron the top of Les Grans Montets all the way down to the chapel.

About The Mountain

If you catch the cable car on the Southern side of Chamonix, you will find the starting point of the famous Vallee Blanche, a brilliant 22km descent over crevasses and seracs (ice boulders) all the way back to Chamonix. A good intermediate following a guide would enjoy a wonderful day out here.
Closer to home Argentiere is the starting point for the cable car up to the legendary Les Grands Montets (4295m) there you will find 30km of runs serviced by 11 lifts

Advanced - a very good place to base yourself for the region and on the same ski pass you can ski the other 5 fields in the Chamonix area. Off piste is the way to go here.

Intermediates - The majority of the slopes (63%) are for intermediates and advanced skiers and boarders

Beginners - you may be better off sking / boarding elsewhere perhaps Val Thorens, Meribel or even Le Tour which is just up the road.

Cross Country - 43km of trails are available
